About us

Who we are

Helen is a change manager working in Victoria, Australia. She’ s a creative person looking for interesting things to do beyond her work and wants to become self-employed. But not any old self-employment will do. She values ethical business practices that result in something great for customers, the ability to support not-for-profit organisations, and being kind to the environment.

Inge is a writing consultant who works from an office in regional Victoria, in the company of two house rabbits, Scotty and Tulip. She didn’t expect to have indoor rabbits but one day Tulip turned up and the BunnyKat ball began to roll.

Why BunnyKat?

When was the last time you did something for the first time? As we get older, we tend to do this less and less, and our frame of reference becomes stable though a bit fixed and unexciting.

When suddenly being the owner of a small black rabbit, Inge found that learning the basics of rabbit care was a new skill. It was interesting too. How many greens are too many? Which greens are OK? What about dental care? Why does my rabbit need my constant attention?

You’ll be surprised at how, with a little effort, you’ll be totally and unexpectedly charmed by these intelligent and curious little creatures. You’ll want to make their lives lovely, because they also makes yours lovely.

Because this is all a new skill, Inge thought it might be good to capture the experience and  share what she has learnt. Because Helen wants to create ethical products, we also offer products that are hard to get in Australia, which have been accepted by our QA advisors, Scotty and Tulip.
